Some Simple Car Care Tips

In order to keep away from big and troublesome bills when it comes time to pay for a car service and successive car repairs, there are things that we can all do to extend and improve the life of our vehicle.

How To Get Maximum Mileage

• Keep the engine tuned. And also keep the air filter element and spark plugs clean.
• Keep the tyre pressure as prescribed in the owner‘s manual.
• Avoid last acceleration and sudden braking.
• Most fuel economic speed is between 50 to 60 kmph in top gear.
• From the start gradually accelerate to the speed of 40 kmph through 1st to 4th Gear.
• As soon as you touch 40 kmph, shift into 5th gear** and gradually accelerate to 50 kmph. Keep cruising between the speed range of 50 and 60 kmph in the 5th gear**.
• Try to drive in top gear as much as possible.
• Avoid unnecessary gear changes and braking.

How To Stay Cool In Your Maruti Suzuki

1. For Cooling

• ‘Set Mode Control Lever‘ to ’Face' mode.
•  'Air Control Lever’ to be kept in re-circulatory mode. If the lever is in ‘Fresh Air' mode, the hot air outside will mix with the cool air inside, and reduce cooling.
• ‘Healer Control Lever’ should be kept at extreme left position. It may be noted that even with one notch towards right; hot air starts mixing with cool air and reduces the cooling effect.
•  Shilt “Fan Switch' to 'Low / Medium Speed'. When cabin temperature stabilises.

2. For quick cooling if the Vehicle has been perked under the sun

• 'Switch the A/C on and roll down the windows for 2-3 minutes (to let the hot air inside escape).
•  Shift ‘Fan Switch’ to ‘High Speed'. Shift ‘Air Control Lever' to 'Fresh Air’ mode. Roll up the windows after 2-3 minutes and shift to settings as explained in cooling function.

3. To maintain cooling efficiency

• Condenser should be cleaned at least once a year. Spray water (mild spray) on the condenser line. This loosens and removes the accumulated dust and leads to efficient cooling.
•  The evaporator should also be cleaned at least once a year to remove dust and foreign particles. This results in batter air flow and faster cooling.

How To Defog Your Window

1. For de-togging the windows

• Push the A/C Switch 0N. Set ‘Function Lever to ‘Defrost' mode.
• Shin ‘Air Control Level’ to ‘Fresh Air' mode.
• Shift Temperature Lever to desired temperature position.

Once you have totally de-fogged the windshield and have a clear view, the controls can be adjusted in accordance with you convenience.
