Manesar / New Delhi: Maruti Suzuki India Limited (“Maruti Suzuki”) has made significant strides in promoting gender diversity and inclusion. In the last two years, the company has systematically increased the hiring of women in vehicle manufacturing and engine transmission roles at its Gurugram and Manesar facilities. These women recruits play crucial role in vehicle manufacturing, taking responsibility across assembly and quality control with a strong focus on precision.

They undergo the same level of on-the-job training and skill development programs as their male counterparts, getting an equal opportunity for career progression in the company.

Speaking on enhanced women participation at the shop floor, Mr. Hisashi Takeuchi, Managing Director & CEO, Maruti Suzuki India Limited said, “We have always had a good representation of women across diverse functions like Engineering, Marketing & Sales, Finance, Legal, Logistics, and Supply Chain. However, real integration happens on the shopfloor when they work on building high quality vehicles with precision and care. It is my personal wish to strengthen women representation at the shopfloor.

With over 190 women employed on its shopfloor in a year, Maruti Suzuki's total women workforce across all functions now exceeds 1,300.
